JWF-NJ is pleased to announce that it has awarded 5 large grants in its 2026-2027:
$25,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Newark for “Girls Swim Strong” – a project that will teach girls basic swim skills to ensure water safety; $25,000 to City Green for “Strengthening Food Security for Women in Essex and Passaic Counties, NJ”, which will double incentives for WIC recipients to purchase fresh produce at mobile farmstands; $25,000 to Essex County Family Justice Center for “Sustaining Access to Comprehensive Domestic Violence Services by Marginalized Victims” for continuation funding to provide case management for domestic violence clients, with a focus on strangulation survivors & special populations; $25,000 to Ironbound Community Corporation for “Women Rising Workforce Initiative” a project that trains women to enter careers in male-dominated skilled trades, such as commercial truck driving and solar panel installation; $25,000 to Oasis – A Haven for Women and Children for “Empowering Low-Income Immigrant Women through the Oasis English as a Second Language (ESL) and Citizenship Program” to teach English as a Second Language classes and citizenship courses for immigrant women in Paterson
